Save!
Yale GD MFA 08 Thesis Book

Save! as a design methodology took six forms: old things into new things; editing; tiny parts into systematic structure; multi-use; nothing at all is created; economies of hand labor. This book was designed with a few economically-minded ideas: The 11x17 paper was collected from my classmates' blue bins and printed on the reverse side; the books' pages are all folded at the foredge. The smaller-than-letter trim-size creates a stack of memo notes and a perennial caldenar. Throughout the book you'll find only one typeface in only one size. Multi-purpose change of type orientation. One super-flexible grid. Project info as headers and footers. All images of work were captured on a document desktop scanner and pieced together by hand in InDesign.
